This trip is tailored to the needs of women who are looking for a bit of excitement and adrenaline! At the same time, we are looking to improve your riding skills. Together we will work on becoming a better and safer mountain biker! We promise we will find that confident rider in you while exploring the amazing landscape of  Julian Alps. By the end of the tour, you will have accomplished more than you ever thought is possible. Oh yes, and fall in love with this beautiful sport on the way! 😉


Trail riding in Kranjska Gora and its surrounding offers one of the best trails in this part of Slovenia and Europe. We will also visit nearby Italy, specifically Tarvisio, and discover some famous historical places. During our trip, we will relax next to the numerous mountain lakes and taste some typically Slovenian and Italian food at the end of the day!

The week plan:

Escape into the mountains and experience beautiful nature! This week is designed to ride some of the most beautiful trails in the country! Meanwhile, you will experience some historical background and spoil yourself with culinary arts.

The goal of this cycling holidays: enjoy and strive to get better!:)

At the beginning of our tour, we will have three full days of riding. All days will be split into half periods of MTB and the other half will be reserved for other sports activities. There will be obligatory stops for proper Italian coffee and Slovenian lunch as well.


You will be based in the 3* hotel in a village named Podkoren. The hotel is located at a perfect spot from where all our tours will start. In the hotel, you will be able to find a cozy bar with a nice big terrace, perfect for post-riding relaxation. The more active evening option is to head up to the neighboring, slightly bigger village Kranjska Gora (3km away), for a slightly more lively outing.

How fit do I need to be?

This Ladies riding MTB trip is aimed at normal recreational female MTB riders looking for some challenge. Each day’s riding is tailored to fit the group’s abilities and to build against the goal you are looking to achieve. However, it is also flexible enough to allow a wide range of skills to enjoy the rides. Regardless to your riding experience, you will never have to push yourself more than you are comfortable with (well, maybe just a bit to hit that next level:).

What’s the weather like?

The weather in Kranjska Gora is typically Alpine. During that time of the year, it can be surprisingly hot with daytime highs over 80° F. At the same time, the temperature can suddenly drop by half if there is a summer storm coming in. We warmly recommend you plan for both and bring an extra raincoat with you:)

Day 1: Arrival

  • Get to know each other and get to know the plan for the week.
  • Answer questions that might have been unanswered thus far.
  • Equipment walkthrough.
  • Dinner and early bedtime to be fresh for the next day’s early start.

Day 2: Ride to Three borders point

Vertical gain: 2.788 (ft)
Length: 14.5 Miles
Tour type: AM (all -mountain-enduro)
  • Breakfast from 7am till 10am.
  • 10am start from the hotel with initial 2,5 hours of MTB climb.
  • Stop at the top of the mountain for lunch and mandatory photos of the amazing scenery at the border of three nations.
  • Descent and return to the hotel.
  • Relaxing on the terrace and prior to 7pm dinner.
  • After dinner, a short talk of how to perform easier fixes and maintenance on your bike.

Day 3: Valbruna Italy

Vertical gain: 2.600 (ft)
Length: 17.5 Miles
Tour type: AM (all -mountain-enduro)
  • Breakfast and start the tour from the hotel.
  • Easier climb on a bike trail to a famous 2nd WW thematic park in Val Saisera.
  • Return to the hotel with a quick stop in an idyllic local pastry shop for the best homemade pastries and tasty coffee.
  • Relaxing afternoon with the presentation of the best training for a mountain biker.
  • Dinner and early sleep, prior to another fun day.

Day 4: Mountain Acomizza – Italy

Vertical gain: 3.200 (ft)
Length: 21.5 Miles
Tour type: AM (all -mountain-enduro)
  • Breakfast and start the tour from the hotel.
  • On this day, our professional photographer will join us to make some photos.
  • 4 – 5 hrs climb on a panoramic road, which will lead us to the top of the amazing mountain Acomizza.
  • Longer rest with small lunch on the top before a descent that will take us around 3 hrs.
  • Return to the hotel, relax, have dinner and review of the photos.

Day 5: Fusine lakes with picnic

Vertical gain: 2.300 (ft)
Length: 16 Miles
Tour type: AM (all -mountain-enduro)
  • This day will be a little more relaxed after tough riding from the day before.
  • We will head up the bike trail from the hotel to the nearby Fusine lakes.
  • There, we will have an easy day relaxing by the lake or going for a hike up the nearby mountains.
  • Picnic in the idyllic cottage by the lake.
  • Return to the hotel and afternoon ride with bikes to the village of Kranjska Gora, 3km away from our hotel.

Day 6: Malborghetto – Ugovizza

  • Breakfast and start the tour from the hotel.
  • First stop of the day will be in the village of Malborghetto to see a trail that was made by a local artist.
  • Our climb will continue on an old road that was built during the 2.nd WW.
  • A stop on the top of the hill with some time to prepare for the descent.
  • Return to the village, with a coffee stop at the old train station with a glorious view of the mountains.
  • Return to the hotel, relax and have dinner.

Day 7: Famous ski jumping center Planica and Valley of Tamar

Vertical gain: 1.400 (ft)
Length: 14 Miles
Tour type: AM (all -mountain-enduro)
  • After our breakfast, we will head up from the hotel to the famous ski jumping center Planica to visit a museum and enjoy the views.
  • Climb on the valley of Tamar, where we can enjoy the beautiful scenery of Julian Alps.
  • Easy descent and return back to the hotel.
  • Time for relaxing before the dinner.
  • After dinner, the projection of the most famous biking movies will follow. OR you can choose to spend the evening in Kranjska Gora.

Day 8: Departure day

  • After breakfast, we will head to the airport.

Your adventure guides are local and experienced professionals who have a real passion for outdoor activities and for the culture and landscape.
Your safety is their number one priority, closely followed by your enjoyment of the tour. They will always be on-hand to answer any questions or requests you may have throughout your trip. We choose our guides for their expertise in outdoor activities. They are experts in their fields.
We only run small group adventures to ensure that everyone has the best experience possible and not get lost in the crowd. There will generally be between seven and 14 people in each group. The minimum number of people we require to run our tours is four.
Our tour caters for a wide age range, typically between 30 and 60 years old, but age is simply a state of mind, as they say, and we welcome anyone over the age of 18! 
Tours are designed at your own pace and you will enjoy no matter what your age.

Each evening your guides will chat with you about the following day’s activities and give you an idea of the sorts of trails you can look forward to. If there’s anything you feel anxious about, your guides will be happy to discuss it with you.
We recommend following a general training in the weeks leading up to your trip.
Your guide will be very happy to give you some bike skills training during your trip to help improve your confidence and your enjoyment of your bike adventure. 

As fellow sports enthusiasts, we understand the comfort you may find in riding with your own gear. Due to things can get a bit challenging when it comes to traveling please consult our booking manager prior to departure.

Q. Will I have to carry my own luggage?
You will never have to worry about your bags on tour. You only need to carry a daypack with you whilst riding. We have a support vehicle and driver who will transfer your luggage to your next accommodation each day, and have it ready and waiting for your arrival.
On your holiday you will be staying in a range of comfortable, welcoming local accommodations, including traditional guest houses, small hotels, and a boutique hotel. For details please consult with your booking manager.
Traveling light is the key. Although the daytime and nighttime temperatures can vary in the mountains, so you must make sure that you have plenty of layers of breathable clothing to ensure that you are always warm enough and can remove a layer if you get too hot. 
You should also bring cycling shorts/trousers, gloves, padded undershorts, waterproof jacket, flip-flops, specific shoes for cycling.
Where the meals are included in Bikehiketours itineraries they are in a group setting. 
Your Bikehiketours guide will also be with you during these scheduled meals. 
During the meals that are not included in the itinerary, you are free to choose where you would like to dine. Your guide will advise you the best places to dine for these meals. You can choose to join with others and decide to dine together somewhere or, if you desire some independent time, you are also always welcome to do your own thing.
Medical insurance is mandatory on all of our holidays. We also recommend trip cancellation insurance. Contact your booking manager and we will help you choose the right plan for your holiday.
Many of our travelers join as singles. We charge single supplement fee to solo travelers for single room use. But don’t worry, we can pair you with another traveler of the same gender if you like.

A single supplement is an additional charge for a private room for guests traveling alone.
The cost of our holidays does not include international airfare. However, we are happy to assist you in booking flights to join with each tour. The prices vary depending on the season and the point of departure.
We can arrange early arrivals and extended visits. We will be happy to provide suggestions and ideas.
The more in advance you book, the greater availability of dates you’ll find.
