This 9 days Greek MTB adventure gives you the opportunity to see the island from one side to the other. Right on your MTB!:) By the end of this tour, you will definitely know the central Evia better! And we promise that stunning scenery, amazing beaches, and great food will leave you more than satisfied!

The quaint villages of Evia are just waiting for their visitors.

Scattered all over the island, these villages of all sizes and characters will provide us delightful surprises during our cycling trip. The Greeks are very religious. This will be also clearly evident in every step of our trip. Chapels and churches with icons and decorated screens will greet us everywhere. They will also provide us shelter and some water to drink during our adventure!

Day 1 – Arrival - Steni

A transfer will be waiting for you at the Athens airport to take you to the mountain village of Steni. A brief stop at the Evripus Strait, a unique tidal phenomenon and the initial link between Evia island with the mainland at the city of Chalkida. You will have the chance to visit the castle of Karababa, and walk along the seaside promenade of the town before you leave for the hotel and prepare for the exciting 8 days. Overnight in Steni.

Day 2 – Ride along the river of Steni

Starting at the village of lower Steni we will have a leisurely ride past beautiful little chapels when following the rolling hills. We will cross the river from Steni numerous times until we will make our picnic stop at a beautiful church next to an abandoned watermill. Overnight in Steni.

Day 3 – Steni - Makrykapa - Steni

Starting from Steni, we will bike to the village of Makrykapa along tarmac roads. We will then follow the dirt roads through the mountains. Depending on the time of the year, we will come across heaps of timber and the famous resin producing forests of Evia. The route is circular but there is always an option of extending the route. Overnight in Steni.

Day 4 – Steni - Kabia - Steni

When leaving the village of Steni, we will head into the mountains following the dirt roads. We will ride our bikes all the way to 3000 ft of altitude where we will enjoy some panoramic views. A small single track will then lead our way down towards the hidden village of Kabia where we will enjoy a fresh trout (freshly caught from the trout farm which we will visit). We will set off again towards Agia Kyriaki chapel where we will have a chance to get a dip in the river. The route is circular and will take us back to our hotel. Overnight in Steni.

Distance: 15,5 miles

Day 5 – Steni - Metohi

Today, we will head north-east towards the village of Metohi, riding over a pass with stunning coastal views to both sides of the island. We will end at the secluded beach of Paralia Metohiou where we will be able to swim. Overnight in Metohi.

Distance: 20, 5 miles

Day 6 – Metohi - Kymi

Leaving Metohi we will head towards Kymi which is famous for its figs. Breath-taking views of Metohi and Hiliadou beach will make you forget about the steep climbs you will encounter along this memorable section. Overnight in Kymi.

Distance: 21 miles

Day 7 – Kymi - Setta

From Kymi, we will head through an impressive gorge to the mountains of Kadi while riding past some interesting quarries. Our final destination will be the village of Setta where we will stay at a beautiful and relaxing mountain hotel with a pool near a modern amphitheater. Overnight in Setta.

Distance: 25 miles

Day 8 – Setta - Fylla village

Leaving Setta, we will have an easier traverse to the west towards Fylla village. We will experience great views of Olympus mountain (of Evia) and we will come across the Castle of the Knight Lykarios and the twin towers of Mytikas.  Our last overnight stay will be at a beautifully renovated farmhouse with a natural swimming pool. Overnight in Fylla.

Day 9 – Departure day

After a good breakfast, it will, unfortunately, be time to travel back to the airport. However, if you wish why not extend your stay and have a guided tour to the Acropolis of Athens or just spend a few more days in Athens or on Evia. Options are unlimited!:)

Your adventure guides are local and experienced professionals who have a real passion for outdoor activities and for the culture and landscape.
Your safety is their number one priority, closely followed by your enjoyment of the tour. They will always be on-hand to answer any questions or requests you may have throughout your trip. We choose our guides for their expertise in outdoor activities. They are experts in their fields.
We only run small group adventures to ensure that everyone has the best experience possible and not get lost in the crowd. There will generally be between seven and 14 people in each group. The minimum number of people we require to run our tours is four.
Our tour caters for a wide age range, typically between 30 and 60 years old, but age is simply a state of mind, as they say, and we welcome anyone over the age of 18! 
Tours are designed at your own pace and you will enjoy no matter what your age.

Each evening your guides will chat with you about the following day’s activities and give you an idea of the sorts of trails you can look forward to. If there’s anything you feel anxious about, your guides will be happy to discuss it with you.
We recommend following a general training in the weeks leading up to your trip.
Your guide will be very happy to give you some bike skills training during your trip to help improve your confidence and your enjoyment of your bike adventure. 

As fellow sports enthusiasts, we understand the comfort you may find in riding with your own gear. Due to things can get a bit challenging when it comes to traveling please consult our booking manager prior to departure.

Q. Will I have to carry my own luggage?
You will never have to worry about your bags on tour. You only need to carry a daypack with you whilst riding. We have a support vehicle and driver who will transfer your luggage to your next accommodation each day, and have it ready and waiting for your arrival.
On your holiday you will be staying in a range of comfortable, welcoming local accommodations, including traditional guest houses, small hotels, and a boutique hotel. For details please consult with your booking manager.
Traveling light is the key. Although the daytime and nighttime temperatures can vary in the mountains, so you must make sure that you have plenty of layers of breathable clothing to ensure that you are always warm enough and can remove a layer if you get too hot. 
You should also bring cycling shorts/trousers, gloves, padded undershorts, waterproof jacket, flip-flops, specific shoes for cycling.
Where the meals are included in Bikehiketours itineraries they are in a group setting. 
Your Bikehiketours guide will also be with you during these scheduled meals. 
During the meals that are not included in the itinerary, you are free to choose where you would like to dine. Your guide will advise you the best places to dine for these meals. You can choose to join with others and decide to dine together somewhere or, if you desire some independent time, you are also always welcome to do your own thing.
Medical insurance is mandatory on all of our holidays. We also recommend trip cancellation insurance. Contact your booking manager and we will help you choose the right plan for your holiday.
Many of our travelers join as singles. We charge single supplement fee to solo travelers for single room use. But don’t worry, we can pair you with another traveler of the same gender if you like.


A single supplement is an additional charge for a private room for guests traveling alone.
The cost of our holidays does not include international airfare. However, we are happy to assist you in booking flights to join with each tour. The prices vary depending on the season and the point of departure.
We can arrange early arrivals and extended visits. We will be happy to provide suggestions and ideas.
The more in advance you book, the greater availability of dates you’ll find.
