7 days

This sailing trip in the North Adriatic (Kvarner) is all about outdoor adventure. We will sail around this beautiful area, anchor in some really amazing bays, and will also explore some of the nearest islands and hike its peaks and ridges. On our hiking routes, we will learn about the history and life of local people. You will be impressed by the biodiversity of such a small area, as we will visit rocky peninsula of Kamenjak and green islands of Cres, Susak, Lošinj, and Unije. It is hard to pick the highlight of this route. However, swimming and diving in the Blue Cave on Island Cres is definitely something you will be telling stories about.

ACTIVITY – suitable for everyone

This sailing trip is meant to be quite challenging, as we will sail a lot. In between, we plan to hike and explore the islands. All our sailing routes are full of activities, however, this one really aims for people in a good shape, as there will be 100% action.

Day 1 - Debeljak/Portič bay (12Nm)

The first day, we will sail south and around Cape of Kamenjak to one of many beautiful bays on the eastern side of the amazing peninsula Kamenjak. This peninsula is located at the southernmost point of Istria. Here, we will drop the anchor for the night.

Day 2 – Unije-Maračol bay (20Nm)

After our first breakfast and a morning swim, which is always a must when on anchor in the Adriatic, we will go ashore to explore the protected landscape of Kamenjak. There are many possibilities. Kamenjak is great for snorkeling or even scuba diving; there are many underwater caves as well as cliffs for some cliff jumping. There are also interesting Dinosaur footsteps in the bay of Pinžule and on the island of Fenoligi. Before we set sail towards the island of Unije, we must stop in the legendary Safari bar, whose owner and bar itself are really unique. We will spend a night in the beautiful bay of Maračol on the island of Unije.

Day 3 - Lubenice(15Nm)

In the morning, we can walk to the village on the other side of the island for some fresh bread and a coffee with locals. The walk is short and offers some really nice viewpoints. After that, we will set our compass north towards Lubenice bay. Lubenice bay has a really nice beach, which is located under the cliff on top of which lies a small village of Lubenice (378m). This will be our goal of the day, as it takes around 1-hour hike to reach the village. The view and the sunset from the top are simply amazing. The descent takes around half an hour. We will have to be quite fast if we want to get to the boat before the night.

Day 4 - Osor (12 Nm)

In the morning, we will sail close to the beach. This beach is really similar to the Lubenice beach but with one difference. On Žanja beach, there is a blue cave. We will swim in it and admire the play of colors inside. To get out of the cave it is possible to dive under the rocks and come out on the other side. We will spend all day swimming and relaxing in the clear blue water. Later on, we will move to a small town of Osor. Although Osor has a rich history which dates all the way back to 9th century B.C, this is not our main reason for visiting it.

Day 5 - Punta Križa (9 Nm)

After a good breakfast, we will climb Osorščica, which is our reason to be here. There are different routes to reach the top of this 588 m »mountain«. The climb will be quite demanding, as it will take us around 4-5 hours. We will choose our route once we are there. It is a really nice trip with lots of beautiful views of the whole North Adriatic. Once we are back on the boat, we can visit the town and then move to Punta Križa to spend the night in one of its emerald bays.

Day 6 - Susak (18Nm)

There is nothing better than waking up with a jump into crystal clear water. This day is reserved for relaxation, swimming, snorkeling, and sailing. The only plan is to reach the island of Susak before the night.

Susak is a small island, located west of Cres and Lošinj. One look at the island and you can immediately see that it is totally different from all the other Adriatic islands. It is mostly formed of fine sand laid on a limestone rock base. As sand is a really unique phenomenon for Adriatic islands, there are still doubts about where this sand came from. Nevertheless, this soil is very fertile, resulting in an extremely green landscape.

Day 7 - Pula(34Nm)

We will spend our last night together in the city of Pula. Pula is famous for its Roman buildings, of which the most famous is the 1st-century amphitheater called Arena by the locals. It is a very interesting city, so our last night should be fun. The Arena is the place where many festivals, plays, and concerts take place during the summer. Hopefully, there is something interesting on the menu for when we are there – and it usually is.

*Route can be changed due to safety, weather or other reasons. Because of numerous islands and bays in Croatia, the changed route should not be less interesting or beautiful. We can also make slight changes in the route on a daily basis according to your wishes (sleeping in a port or outside in a bay on anchor). Skipper is always in charge of the boat and is always acting in the best interest and safety of all the crew and the boat.
