3 days: Friday – Sunday
Hudson Valley, Upstate New York

Go offline and enjoy your outdoor weekend with your family and friends!

Join us for an unplugged weekend Upstate to disconnect from the busy NYC life that keeps us constantly online, and find yourselves fully present enjoying the time with family, and new friends! During this family weekend camp, kids will have the opportunity to spend more time with their (newfound) buddies from Bike Hike Tours Summer Camp, while parents will get the chance to get to know each other too. We are going to focus on spending quality time with each other and trying exciting outdoor activities that we all envy our kids enjoying every day!

So, listen up!

We believe nature heals everything and a good old-fashioned escape to the countryside relieves you from all the stress and worries. Being located so close to nature, we encourage you to leave your digital gadgets at home or put them in a special digital box upon Friday’s arrival, and we will return them to you on Sunday’s departure. Let’s forget about everyday tasks and jobs for a few days, and spend real quality time outdoors! Focusing on our family, friends and our comfort should be the priority during this offline family weekend away from the city. Don’t worry, there will be pictures taken to show off your new skills on social media but we’d really like you to be fully present in the moment and enjoy what your children have learned to enjoy so much during the past weeks: hop on the bike, skateboard or slackline and just do your best in the moment.

What else to expect?

The plan is to spend most of the days outside while getting familiar with different outdoor sports. We are going to have separate programs organized for kids and parents (ie. childcare included), so everyone can have fun, safe & worry-free weekend! We will give beginners lessons of mountain biking, skateboarding, and slackline, we will take you hiking, and introduce you to yoga! No prior experience with any of the above sports is required, nor do you have to officially be “sporty” to join!

For a full 3-day schedule see the “ITINERARY” tab above.

The area around Hudson Valley offers incredible nature and various options for sports, including hiking & biking trails, yoga, and meditation among more. Our lodge is also located a short drive away from an abundance of natural attractions and sites to visit, such as conservation areas, state parks, waterfalls, and adventure parks.

The property itself sits at the lakeside and boasts a grandiose private backyard with mature maples, evergreens, wildflowers, and over 500 feet of lake frontage. There is also a fire pit and an outdoor grill/smoker available for us to use!🌭 For those interested (and with some previous experience!), we can also organize a canoeing or tandem kayaking on the lake. The property is surrounded by a great lawn that just calls for outdoor family games and activities. No swimming is, however, allowed in the lake!

Safety first!

This “BHT Camper’s only” family weekend retreat offers an exclusive chance to reconnect with the other families, in a small-sized, secluded local environment. Private high standard accommodation and organic meals will add up to a safe and healthy experience! We make sure all equipment, as well as accommodation, is carefully disinfected after every use, while the area itself, takes care of the rest. Play safe in nature is always our motto!

A beautiful house with character (and spacious common area)

We will be staying in the Vanderbilt Lakeside guesthouse with no other guests on the premises during our stay. This Victorian-Era house, located in the Hudson Valley Village of Philmont, offers everything that you will need during this retreat to take a break from the city and pandemic craziness! Located amidst great nature, it comes with all modern and organic design elements. The space is perfect for retreats, as it boasts with a grand kitchen and a big open area for dining, where we will enjoy our meals. A cozy dining/bar room with a pool table and the Game Room guest lounge are perfect for grown-up gathering at the end of the day.

Rooms & meals

Rooming will be organized on a family room basis. There are 8 queen bedrooms each with a private bathroom on the upstairs floor of the house.

We will discuss and organize the meal plan separately with all the confirmed families after the booking. Meals are not included in the package but can be prepared in the house itself. During the retreat, we will hire a chef and source only the best local organic food from the nearby farmers market, with vegan options too. Throughout the day, there will be fresh fruit available in the kitchen and some healthy snacks to boost your energy.

Price: $ 1.390 per family of 3; each additional child $200
